Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'heavy-duty work environment' mean for this men's work boot?
Heavy-duty environments include jobs like construction and manufacturing where reliable protection is needed. They are CSA certified with a composite toe and steel plate. But because of the unique, lightweight construction of these work boots, they could be worn for medium duty work, like landscaping or in manufacturing environments as well. Given they are a taller work boot, they may limit movement for some active workers, in which case the Boondock Ultralight 6" work boot is a good option.
Are Timberland Boondock Ultralight work boots good for electrical work?
Yes. They are ESR-rated (Electric Shock Resistant), which means the soles provide a secondary level of protection against electrical shock hazards. This makes them suitable for electricians or anyone working around live electrical equipment.
Is the Timberland Boondock Ultralight work boot waterproof?
Yes, the Boondock Ultralight work boots are made with waterproof leather uppers. They will hold up in light rain and wet conditions.

Work boots and safety shoes should fit well when you buy them. Your toes shouldn't be able to wiggle and not touch the toe cap. Your heel should sit snuggly but not too tight. Because of the safety features (toe and plate) built into safety shoes and work boots, they don't loosen up like regular shoes or boots might. We recommend wearing them for a few hours at home before wearing them for a full day of work. After all, you wouldn't wear brand new shoes to go on an 8-hour hike!
